I have to play a "Giant Tam Tam" in the music for Ben Hur tomorrow night. Its what it says in the score!

I have to stand on a chair....

Thats 10 feet tall....

And I still can't reach it...

I'll have to go to the Union about this, even composers have started to take the slash outta me!!!!

Nah, the weirdest instrument I ever saw was the thunder & lightning machine in some Strauss symphony, and also in belgium, we did a contemporary piece where they loweres sheets of metal into baths of water when they were struck. Pretty cool stuff.
